According to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, the estimated number of volunteers who help at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. RodeoHouston concludes March 16.

RodeoHouston, a ProRodeo Tour rodeo, which began Feb. 25 will continue to be livestreamed. The schedule is as follows: March 11-15, 6:45 p.m. (CT); March 16, 2:45 p.m. (CT).

 

RodeoHouston will be televised by FOX Sports Southwest. The live schedule will be as follows: March 13, Super Series Semifinals 1, 7 p.m. (CT); March 14, Super Series Semifinals 2, 7 p.m. (CT); March 15, Super Series Wild Card, 7 p.m. (CT); March 16, RodeoHouston Super Series Championship, 3 p.m. (CT).  ProRodeo Hall of Fame announcer Bob Tallman anchors the network’s live coverage alongside four-time PRCA Announcer of the Year Boyd Polhamus and Andy Seiler.

There is an upcoming PRCA Rodeo Day camp in Red Bluff, Calif. The camp is slated for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (PT) on March 23. All abilities welcome for ages 8 and up. Registration required at http://prorodeo.com/jrrodeo.

Thomas Gorman Peterson, a former PRCA bull rider and PRCA judge, passed away March 4. He was 60. Peterson won the average at the Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo in 1983. Peterson was born May 29, 1958, in Deadwood S.D. He was adopted by Gorman and May Peterson and brought to Timber Lake, S.D., to begin his life in his new home. Peterson attended Timber Lake High School where he excelled in football and rodeo. Peterson bought his PRCA card in 1978. He earned $56,519 in his rodeo career. Peterson continued competing into the early 1990s. After he retired from bull riding, he moved to Bryan, Texas, and began his PRCA judging career. Peterson moved back to Rapid City in the mid-2000s for a few years and then to Aberdeen, S.D. Peterson continued being a rodeo official part time, as well as a worker for the 3M Corporation. Peterson was preceded in death by his parents, Gorman and May Peterson, and uncle and aunt, Pat and Garnet Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Marty, their children Tyler, Tobi and Tara; His brother, Jerry (Marla) Peterson; nieces, Shay Peterson and Rachel Peterson. Peterson’s funeral will be March 12 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake, S.D. The service begins at 11 a.m. (MT).
