COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With the summer run on the horizon and $520,494 in prize money up for grabs among 10 ProRodeo competitions across the U.S. and Canada, PRCA cowboys had plenty of opportunities to strike it big April 30 through May 6.

The first week of May was highlighted by a ProRodeo Tour stop at the Guymon (Okla.) Pioneer Days Rodeo, where many PRCA cowboys duked it out for more than a quarter-million dollars in prize money. Steer roper Thomas Smith had a particularly profitable trip, earning $7,446.

When the stakes are high, so is the level of ProRodeo competition, so here’s a look at the top scores and times for the week of April 30 through May 6 in the PRCA.

Bareback rider Clayton Biglow scored 88 points on Four Star Rodeo's Lollita at the Stampede Days Rodeo in Bakersfield, Calif., May 4.

Four steer wrestlers clocked in at 4.0 seconds this week. Hunter Cure made his run in Guymon while Denard Butler made his at the Helotes (Texas) Festival Association Rodeo, May 2. On May 3, Riley Duvall matched their time at the Phil Gardenhire Pro Rodeo in Poteau, Okla. The fourth bulldogger to make a 4-second run was Matt Reeves in Guymon, May 4.

Team ropers Tanner Baldwin and Nano Garza made a 4.6-second run in Bakersfield, May 3.

Saddle bronc rider Wade Sundell scored 90 points on Frontier Rodeo's Big News in Guymon, May 3.

Tie-down roper Tyler Prcin made a 7.9-second run in Guymon, May 2.

Barrel racer Kassidy Lovell made two of the top three runs this week, clocking in at 15.41 seconds in Helotes, May 2, and then making a 15.5-second run at the Panola County Cattlemen’s Pro Rodeo in Carthage, Texas, May 3.

Steer roper Chet Herren made a 9.4-second run in Guymon, April 30.

Bull rider Sage Kimzey had two of the top three rides this week, highlighted by his 88.5-point ride on Andrews Rodeo's Slim Shady in Helotes, May 4.

Three days earlier, Kimzey scored 87.5 points on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's River Monster at the Wharton (Texas) County Youth Fair & Exposition Xtreme Bulls competition. On May 4, his younger brother, Trey, also made an 87.5-point ride on Hi Lo ProRodeo's Batman in Carthage.

The second-highest score of the week was 88 points, notched by Lane Nobles on Big Rafter Rodeo's Unhinged in Poteau.

PRCA action continues this week with eight competitions in the U.S. and Canada, including the historic Las Vegas Days rodeo, previously known as the Helldorado Days Rodeo.
