COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Northwest was the place to be Aug. 12-18 with multiple high-dollar competitions happening simultaneously, making it possible for cowboys to score big jumps in the PRCA | RAM World Standings and the ProRodeo Tour Standings

The second week of August featured 37 competitions across North America with more than $1.8 million in prize money – the majority of which stemmed from ProRodeo Tour events.

The Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo, the Fallon County Fair & Rodeo in Baker, Mont., the Canby (Ore.) Rodeo, the Gooding (Idaho) Pro Rodeo and the Yellowstone River Round-Up in Billings, Mont., offered the biggest payouts of the week and were among the final 10 chances to earn ProRodeo Tour points before the ProRodeo Tour Finale in Puyallup, Wash., Sept. 5-8.

Six of last week’s competitions featured six-figure payouts, five of which were ProRodeo Tour events:
• Caldwell: $327,501
• Baker: $179,737
• Canby: $175,258
• Gooding: $158,971
• Billings: $128,052

The Moses Lake (Wash.) Round-Up Rodeo was the non-Tour rodeo that cleared six figures. It paid out $158,349.

With so much money up for grabs, the stakes were high and competition was stiff – which was reflected in the highest scores and fastest times of the week.

Two bareback riders made 91-point rides, Aug. 17. Kaycee Feild's ride was on Northcott Macza's Spilled Perfurme in Caldwell, and Richmond Champion’s ride was on C5 Rodeo's Make Up Face in Baker.

Two steer wrestlers clocked in at 3.4 seconds last week. Dakota Eldridge made his run at the Lynden (Wash.) PRCA Rodeo, Aug. 14, while Brendan Laye’s was at the Cranbrook (B.C.) Pro Rodeo, Aug. 18.

Team ropers Tyler Wade and Billie Jack Saebens made a 3.9-second run in Caldwell, Aug. 12.

Rusty Wright was on Kesler Rodeo's Country Trail at the Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo in Kalispell, Aug. 15. Brody Cress’ ride was on C5 Rodeo's High Valley in Baker, Aug. 17.
