COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The first week of the new calendar year saw $295,814 in ProRodeo prize money on the table across four competitions between Dec. 30, 2019, and Jan. 5, 2020, with an additional $235,823 up for grabs at the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo in Odessa, Texas, which runs Jan. 3-11.

Saddle bronc rider Brody Cress took full advantage of the week’s opportunities, raking in $16,502 between his clean sweep at the RAM Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo in Waco and winning Round 1 and placing second in the finals at the New Years Eve Buck & Ball in Gillette, Wyo.

The fastest times and highest scores might not always make the record book, but they make a lasting memory for fans and competitors. With more than 700 PRCA competitions across the Western Hemisphere, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

In addition to the fame that comes with winning the most prize money, each ride was a chance to be the best of the week. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event held from Dec. 30 through Jan. 5.

Bareback rider Kody Lamb made an 89-point ride on Burch Rodeo's Pip Squeak in Gillette, Dec. 31.

Three steer wrestlers stopped the clock in 3.9 seconds in Waco – Cade Goodman did it Jan. 3, while Matt Reeves and Cade Staton accomplished their runs Jan. 4.
