For The Record: Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo

The Pasadena (Texas) Livestock Show & Rodeo is under way, and cowboys are bringing their best as they race to the finish line of the 2017 season.

Competitors have until Sept. 30 to rack up as much money as possible for a chance to make the Top 15 of the WEATHER GUARD® PRCA World Standings and qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Polaris RANGER. With that in mind, the Pasadena rodeo has played host to some high scores and fast times, but only the best make the arena record book.

Herbert Theriot set the Pasadena arena record for most money won in all-around in 2000 with $5,191.

Bareback rider William Pittman set the Pasadena record in 2000 with his 87-point ride. Six years later, Tilden Hooper matched the record.

Steer wrestler Tommy Cook’s 3.0-second run in 2010 is Pasadena’s fastest time. Meanwhile, the two-run average record of 7.6 seconds is shared by K.C. Jones (2014) and Baylor Roche (2016).

Team ropers Clayton Hass and Casey Chamberlain set the Pasadena record in 2010 with their 3.8-second run. The following year, Lance Brooks and Justin Copp set the two-run average record with 8.6 seconds.

Saddle bronc rider Cody DeMoss set the arena record in 2012 with his 90-point ride.

Tie-down roper Wes Arcement’s 7.2-second run has been the fastest run in Pasadena since 2007. Scott Kormos set the two-run average record in 2008 with 16.1 seconds.

Barrel racer Tammy Key holds the Pasadena record with her 2006 run of 14.78 seconds.

Bull rider Clayton Foltyn set the arena record in 2013 with his 91-point ride.

Pasadena’s record payout was set in 2014 with $175,443.
