The Tour will feature 24 rodeos – beginning with Logandale, Nev., and concluding with the finale presented by Justin Boots, Sept. 6-9 in Puyallup, Wash. To subscribe to ProRodeoTV.com visit this link at http://www.prorodeo.com/prorodeotv-subscribe. … EarlBudBatteate, a member of the Cowboys’ Turtle Association, passed away March 28, at the age of 99. He was born in Oakland, Calif., Nov. 20, 1918. As a young man he broke horses for Harry Rowell of Rowell Rodeo, then became a bronc rider. He later owned Batteate Livestock Transportation Co. and raised cattle in California and Nevada … The next PRCA Rodeo Camp will be April 14 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (MT). Registration is required at www.prorodeo.com/prorodeo/rodeo/youth-rodeo … The Greeley (Colo.) Stampede has created the Greeley Stampede Hall of Fame. The first class of inductees will include Art Parker, the Farr Family, Hadley Barrett, and Tom Mawson. “We are thankful to everyone that contributes to the success of the Stampede,” Justin Watada, General Manager and Hall of Fame Chairman, said in a press release. “The Hall of Fame members have left a long-lasting impression on the event that does not fade.” To recognize the Hall of Fame inductees, the Greeley Stampede will be hosting a banquet May 11 at Zoe’s Café starting at 6 p.m. (MT). Individual tickets will be $25 or a table of eight for $160. Tickets for the banquet will be available at the Greeley Stampede ticket office located at 600 N 14th Ave. Tickets may also be purchased over the phone at 970.356.7787. Additional recognition will take place during the 2018 Greeley Stampede, which runs from June 22 through July 4, including display cases for each inductee with information and artifacts about their contributions to the Stampede. The display cases will be located in the Events Center during the Stampede … Fort Hays (Kan.) State University students Shae Biedenbender, of Westmoreland, Kan., and Travis Booth of Castle Rock, Colo., have both been awarded $500 scholarships courtesy of the Phillipsburg (Kan.) Rodeo Association. Biedenbener, who is a freshman, competes in breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping (as a heeler), and will add barrel racing to her repertoire this spring. Booth is a sophomore at FHSU and competes in steer wrestling and team roping. Since 1997, the Phillipsburg Rodeo Association has awarded scholarships to FHSU students who compete in rodeo. The Phillipsburg Rodeo Association is the organization behind Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo, which will be held Aug. 2-4. For more information on the rodeo, visit www.KansasBiggestRodeo.com … University of Montana Western (Dillon) rodeo coach Iola OlieElse plans to retire after 31 years of service to the team. Else is the driving force behind UMW’s rodeo team and equine studies program, with the nation’s only four-year degree in natural horsemanship. “This is the end of an era,” Else said on www.nbcmontana.com. Else said she served 31 years of service to UMW’s rodeo team and 25 years as head coach. Her team has been ranked top 10 in the National Collegiate Rodeo Association every year. Team Vice President Treyjan Olson said he’s staying involved in the hiring process for the next head coach, but says Else’s tenure will be unmatched. Else will retire from coaching after the College National Finals in June.
