Weekly Recap

The fastest times and highest scores may not always make the record book, but they certainly make a lasting memory for the fans and competitors. With about 650 ProRodeo competitions held across the Western Hemisphere each year, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

There were 27 ProRodeo competitions between May 27 through June 3. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event during that period:

Bareback rider Tim O’Connell made an 87-point ride on Pickett Rodeo's Shady Nights at the Licking (Mo.) PRCA Rodeo.

Steer wrestler K.C. Jones made a 3.7-second run at the Hugo (Okla.) PRCA Rodeo.

Team ropers Clay Smith and Paul Eaves made a 3.9-second run at the Old Fort Days Rodeo in Fort Smith, Ark. Their time tied the Fort Smith rodeo’s record set by Logan Olson and Matt Kasner in 2013.

Saddle bronc rider Rhett Fanning made an 88.5-point ride on New Frontier Rodeo’s War Jet at the Bennington (Kan.) PRCA Rodeo.

Five tie-down ropers clocked in at 7.6 seconds this week – Ike Fontenot, Cory Solomon and Tyler Milligan at Fort Smith; Cody Craig at the Central Point (Ore.) Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo; and King Pickett at Hugo.

Barrel racer Kacey Gartner stopped the clock in 13.99 seconds at Central Point.

Bull rider Sage Kimzey made an 89-point ride on Championship Pro Rodeo’s Hd at Licking.
