Standings Shuffle: 35 move up in Top 15

As the final rodeo in the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour, the Ellensburg (Wash.) Rodeo was the deciding factor in who would compete at the Justin Finale in Puyallup, Wash., Sept. 6-9.

But that wasn’t the only place to win money last week, as cowboys competed at 26 rodeos across North America worth a collective $1.4 million from Aug. 27 through Sept. 3. With so much money up for grabs, 35 cowboys climbed within the Top 15.

Veteran and rookie cowboys know it’s easier to maintain a position at the top than it is to play catch-up when trying to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Every dollar counts, and making the Top 15 in the PRCA | RAM World Standings early establishes a solid base and builds a cowboy’s confidence as the season picks up pace.

Nobody knows this better than bull rider Elliot Jacoby, who moved from 19th to 10th. Jacoby moved nine spots this week thanks to winning $16,873 at the Ellensburg (Wash.) Rodeo Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale, Sept. 1.

The following cowboys saw their positions improve in the PRCA World Standings during the week.
