A highly recruited football player out of high school, Cannon played fullback at NCAA Division I-AA Stephen F. Austin University for two years before transferring to Division II Texas A&M Commerce .. .Father, Jay, competed in rodeo for more than 20 years and is a PRCA Gold Card member ... Travels with Heath Ford…Along with his friend and fellow bareback rider, Evan Jayne, Cannon was among the subjects of a 2007 French documentary film Ballade Pour Un Cowboy (Ballad of a Cowboy). He is the central figure in another documentary by French film makers Cedric Deloche and Frederic Laffont, due to be released in 2010…Featured in a British Airways commercial in 2009 ... Cannon's 2007 season ended prematurely after he suffered injuries in a car wreck on I-10 leaving El Paso, Texas, in September. His vehicle was totaled and he ended up with cuts all over his face and body ... Featured in April 2011 edition of Cowboys & Indians magazine
