• 2013: Won Parada del Sol (Scottsdale, Ariz.); finished 86th in the world standings with $12,621
• 2012: Rode all 10 nights but failed to record a qualified ride at his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Won La Fiesta de los Vaqueros (Tucson, Ariz.) with a 90-point ride on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Gangbuster. Co-champion at the Dixie National Rodeo (Jackson, Miss.) and the YMBL Championship Rodeo (Beaumont, Texas). Finished 14th in the world standings with $80,593

5-6, 155 … Single … Parents, Tommy and Peggy; Tommy rode broncs in his youth and Cody credits his dad with being a major influence in his rodeo career; sister, Carmen … Got on his first bull when he was 11 years old … Shoes horses when he is not on the road competing … Missed six months of the 2009 season after breaking his right (riding) wrist at the College National Finals Rodeo and undergoing surgery; missed much of 2011 when he broke the wrist again and chose to let it heal naturally … Riding style (getting over the front of the bull) is similar to that of two-time World Champion Terry Don West … Attended Gary Leffew’s bull riding school in 2010 … Drives to rodeos in his pearl-white 1996 Cadillac Sedan de Ville convertible … Enjoys fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting … Favorite type of music is rock n’ roll, especially AC/DC and Def Leppard … Graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School and attended Howard College (Big Spring, Texas) for three years, where he received a certificate in ranch management
