• 2013: Won Rounds 1, 4, 7 and 8 at the Wrangler NFR to earn an event-best $106,270 and advance from seventh place to second in the final world standings with earnings of $194,365. Won the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up; the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo; the Strawberry Days Rodeo (Pleasant Grove, Utah); the Livingston (Mont.) Roundup; the Evanston (Wyo.) Cowboy Days and the Summit County Fair & Rodeo (Coalville, Utah). Co-champion at the Lea County Fair & PRCA Rodeo (Lovington, N.M.); the World’s Oldest Rodeo (Prescott, Ariz.) and the Gem State Classic ProRodeo (Blackfoot, Idaho)
• 2012: Shared the win in Round 2 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo with an 84.5-point ride and then shared the win in Round 3 with twin brother Jesse with an 87-pointer; placed in two other rounds to advance from eighth to sixth in the final world standings. Won the RAM Wilderness Circuit Finals (Heber City, Utah); the Redding (Calif.) Rodeo; the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo (Casper, Wyo.); the Cassia County Fair & Rodeo (Burley, Idaho); the Industry (Calif.) Hills Charity ProRodeo; the Navajo Nation Fourth of July PRCA Rodeo (Window Rock, Ariz.); the Caribou County Fair & Rodeo (Grace, Idaho) and the Norco (Calif.) Mounted Posse Rodeo. Co-champion at the Larimer County Fair & Rodeo (Loveland, Colo.) and the Evanston (Wyo.) Cowboy Days. Finished sixth in the world standings with $125,840
• 2011: Missed the 15th and final spot in the Wrangler NFR field by $85 to 2009 World Champion Jesse Kruse. Won the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and the St. George (Utah) Lions Dixie Round-up. Won all-around and saddle bronc riding at the Barstow (Calif.) Boys & Girls Club PRCA Rodeo. Co-champion at the Cache County Fair and Rodeo (Logan, Utah). Finished 16th in the world standings with $44,056
• 2010: Won the Wendy Wood Memorial (Cedar City, Utah); the Sanders County Fair & PRCA Rodeo (Plains, Mont.) and the Barstow (Calif.) Boys and Girls Club Rodeo. Finished 47th in the world standings with $19,042

Won the saddle bronc riding at the National High School Finals Rodeo, 2007. During his one year at Western Texas College he won the National College Finals Rodeo all-around title and was the Southwest Region champion in saddle bronc riding

5-9, 170 … Wife, Loni, sons, Tripp and Rocky… Father, Bill, is a rancher and works in the concrete business; mother, Evelyn, is a school teacher … Jake is the twin brother of Jesse Wright, they are the eighth and ninth of 13 children … Brothers Cody, Jesse, Alex and Spencer are also PRCA saddle bronc riders … The Wrights broke new ground in 2014 when four of them (Jesse, Jake, Cody and Spencer) all qualified for the NFR in the same year … By the end of the 2016 season, Jake and his brothers and nephews had 35 years of ProRodeo experience, 26 NFR qualifications and four world titles … A documentary crew from Southern Utah University followed Cody’s quest for a world title in 2008 and produced the DVD "Born To Ride." ...Favorite rodeos are San Antonio, Spanish Fork, Utah, and Ogden, Utah … Favorite sports teams are the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers … Steak and mashed potatoes are his favorite foods … Likes to draw, hunt deer and elk and go fishing … Was a Utah high school wrestling champion in the 145-pound weight class … Also played football and baseball … Favorite musicians are George Strait and Alan Jackson … Exercises 45 minutes to an hour per day with a focus on running, sit-ups, push-ups and pull-ups … Favorite movie is “Gladiator” … Enjoys playing the video game “Big Buck Hunter”
