First competition was in 1990…Fellow team roper Brad Culpepper, with whom he won two National Finals Rodeo average titles (1998-99), is his cousin…His father, Marvin, runs a construction company and mother, Jetty, works as an office manager at the local newspaper. He has one brother, Joey…Graduated from Tifton (Ga.) High School…Enjoys watching the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs…His superstitions include the black cat theory and whoever opens a knife has to close it…Horses are Big ’un’ (19-years old) and Mouse (13-years old).
