• 2010: Placed in two rounds of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, including a second-place finish in Round 10 with a time of 3.8 seconds. Won the San Angelo (Texas) Rodeo; the Snake River Stampede (Nampa, Idaho); the Cassia County Fair & Rodeo (Burley, Idaho) and the Sky Hi Stampede (Monte Vista, Colo.); co-champion of the New Mexico State Fair (Albuquerque); finished 14th in the world standings with $80,137
• 2009: Won the steer wrestling at the Dodge Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo (Denver); the Pioneer Days Rodeo (Clovis, N.M.) and the Evergreen (Colo.) Rodeo. Finished 25th in the world standings with earnings of $43,351
• 2008: Won the all-around title at the NILE Pro Rodeo (Billings, Mont.) and the Ute Mountain Roundup (Cortez, Colo.). Won the all-around and the steer wrestling title at the Cattlemen's Days PRCA Rodeo (Gunnison, Colo.) and the Evergreen (Colo.) Rodeo. Won the tie-down roping at the Steamboat Springs (Colo.) Pro Rodeo Series-July 5. Won the steer wrestling at the Kit Carson Fair & Rodeo (Burlington, Colo.); co-champion at the Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo (Rapid City, S.D.). Finished 29th in the all-around world standings with earnings of $27,736 and 48th in the steer wrestling with $22,836
• 2007: Won the Steamboat Springs (Colo.) Rodeo Series-July 6
• 2006: Finished the year 16th in the all-around with $60,266, 30th in the steer wrestling with $35,625, and 46th in  the tie-down roping with $24,640. Won the all-around title in the Mountain  States Circuit.  Won the steer wrestling at the Ute Mountain Roundup (Cortez, Colo.); the tie-down roping title at  the Royal Gorge Rodeo (Canon City, Colo.); co-champion at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo  (Denver)
• 2003: Won steer wrestling title at the Walker County Fair & Rodeo (Huntsville, Texas); finished the year ranked 16th in steer wrestling with $47,775, 42nd in tie-down roping with $23,765 and 16th in the all-around with $71,540
• 2002: Set the tie-down roping arena record with a 7.4-second run at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
• 2001: Set the steer wrestling arena record with a 3.2-second run at the Summer Tour Finale (Dallas) during the fourth round. Mountain States Circuit all-around champion won the steer wrestling at the Dodge Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo (Denver). Won steer wrestling titles at Colorado State Fair & Rodeo (Pueblo) and the Days of '47 Rodeo (Salt Lake City); steer wrestling finalist at the Tour Finale in Dallas. Finished 29th in the world in steer wrestling with $42,048
• 2000: PRCA Rookie of the Year in tie-down roping and all-around; fnished as the reserve rookie champion in steer wrestling

National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Southwest Region all-around champion, 1999; Kansas Professional Rodeo Association all-around and tie-down roping champion, 1998.

His parents are Paul and Toni Hughes and he has one sister, Kashley … His other occupation is helping run the family ranch ... While attending Swink (Colo.) High School was named 2A Basketball Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997  ...  His father, Paul, qualified for the NFR eight times in steer wrestling (1977-78, 1980, 1982-86) and once in team roping (1975); he also qualified three times for National Finals Steer Roping (1980, 1982-83)
