Won the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show (Fort Worth, Texas) and the Crooked River Roundup (Prineville, Ore.). Co-champion at the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up
• 2014: (Partner Kaleb Driggers) Placed in five rounds of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Won the Wrangler Champions Challenge (Scottsdale, Ariz.); the Wrangler Champions Challenge (Redding, Calif.); the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup Rodeo and the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo (Stephenville, Texas). Co-champion at the Red Bluff (Calif.) Round-Up and the Young County Rodeo (Graham, Texas). Didn’t start roping until 1998, when he made some friends who were involved with rodeo. He was riding horses for four-time world champion Allen Bach and was introduced to Tee Woolman and started roping with him ... Enjoys riding motorcycles when not roping ... His parents, Richard and Gloria, own a heating and air conditioning company in Midland called Smith Company, and he has an older brother and sister. He is the first in his family to be involved in rodeo ... He doesn’t believe in superstitions...Horse is Sunday Night Bingo (Amigo), a 10-year-old sorrel gelding ...
