Rodeo; co-champion of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at the Greeley (Colo.) Independence Stampede and the Flint Hills Rodeo (Strong City, Kan.). • 2004: Won the average title at the Wrangler NFR with a total time of 43.2 seconds on 10 head. He placed in five of the 10 rounds and won $73,372. Finished third in the world standings with $145,915. Won the Gladewater (Texas) Round-up; the Black Hills Roundup (Belle Fourche, S.D.) and the Lawton (Okla.) Rangers Rodeo. Won the Tour Round and average titles at the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo and split the Tour Round at California Rodeo Salinas; won the Tour Round at the Guymon (Okla.) Personal
6-0, 230 … Single ... Hobbies include riding horses and spending time outdoors … Works with rental properties when not on the road competing...Graduated from Millwood (Okla.) High School in a class of 80…The youngest of 15 children (8 girls and 7 boys) in his family; got started in steer wrestling after watching his older brother, Cornell, and friends practicing. One day, he tried to tell them what they were doing wrong, and they basically told him if he could do better then go right ahead. His first competition was in 1997. He didn’t steer wrestle in high school or college, but started in the amateur ranks...Had total reconstruction of his right knee at the end of 1999 ... During his NFR years, used Rodney Burks’ horse, Zan, who was voted AQHA/PRCA Horse of the Year from 2004-06 … Appeared on NBC’s Today Show as part of a special segment on April 28, 2006 … Favorite sports teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Green Bay Packers and Oklahoma State University
