• 2004: Finished just $1,778 behind world champion Monty Lewis with $182,918 and was second in the all-around with $192,696; won the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo (Rapid City, S.D.); the Greeley (Colo.) Rocky Mountain Stampede; the Deadwood (S.D.) Days of ’76 Rodeo and the Red Bluff (Calif.) 6-3, 180 ... Wife, Jennifer (Douglas), is a former Miss Rodeo America (1995) who works as a TV reporter; sons, Stone and Scout; daughter, Faleh ... A heart defect caused Smith to suffer a mild stroke in April 2003, and he underwent a procedure to correct the atrial septal defect in a procedure May 20, 2003, at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. He returned to competition in July at the Snake River Stampede in Nampa, Idaho ... Hobbies include all sports and spending time with his kids … Was featured on the 700 Club with wife, Jennifer, in 2009 .... Appeared in the April 2006 issue of European GQ Magazine and was on the cover of the 2007 January/February issue of Stroke Smart
