5-10, 145 … Single … Full name is Chad Ray Braden … Parents Butch and Tammy Braden, sister, Tara Crawford … His mom was a WNFR timer in 2013-15 and his dad was a WNFR arena usher or pickup man in 2011-15 … Got into rodeo because his dad has been a PRCA member since he was 19 years old … First competed in 2008 … Cheyenne (Wyo.) Frontier Days Rodeo and Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up are his favorite rodeos because he draws good broncs in Cheyenne and Pendleton’s arena is nostalgic … Describes his riding style as “stylish, with a more classic approach and barely using the rein” … His rodeo superstitions include never wearing yellow in the arena and to keep a routine when competing well … Doesn’t have a workout routine, but stays in shape by working on the ranch with his dad and riding horses … His favorite bronc to ride is Hell Fire Hostage, and his dream ride is Lunatic From Hell … His dad and ProRodeo Hall of Famer Mel Hyland are his rodeo idols … Enjoys tooling leather and making his own chaps … Graduated from Welch (Okla.)
