His uncle, Bennie Beutler, is a ProRodeo Hall of Fame stock contractor and his aunt, Vickie Shireman, is a PRCA rodeo secretary; cousin, Jennie Murray, is a PRCA timer who is married to bareback rider Dustin Murray, a two-time Prairie Circuit year-end champion … Graduated from Weatherford (Texas) High School, where he participated in football and track; in his junior year he was an all-district selection in football as a fullback and free safety … Didn’t start competing in rodeo until after he had graduated from high school … Travels with Will Lowe, Wes Stevenson and Tom McFarland, the group known as the "Wolfpack" … Enjoys bow hunting and fishing; has a hunting guide business … Favorite movies are The Hangover and Dumb and Dumber; favorite food is steak and favorite music is classic rock … Is a big fan of University of Oklahoma football … Dream livestock draw is Grated Coconut
